Lacrosse is considered the oldest sport in North America. Rooted in Native American religion, the sport was often played by 1,000 people to resolve conflicts. The modern game began to evolve in 1636 when a French missionary observed a game in Canada. Until the 1930’s mens and womens lacrosse was played with virtually the same rules and regulations.

Today Girls Lacrosse is a non-contact sport played by 12 (or 7 depending on age) players, with one being the goalie. It is fast paced game. The object of the game is to shoot the ball into the opponent's goal. The team scoring the most goals is the winner.
